Recently I attended the Future Ready Summit in Olathe, KS with Michelle Nebel, Stephani Reynolds, Logan Lightfoot (HS), Mindy Andrews (WV), and Amy Harder(MS). It was a very exciting 2 days of collaboration with our district team and with people from other districts. The topic (which you might infer...) was "How do we CHANGE what we are doing to create schools that develop students that are ready for the future?"
During the last two months groups of #OneThing lead team members met together to begin planning for our Jan. 4th professional learning day. Lead teams consist of 45 inspiring teachers, PDC members, instructional coaches and administrators. The passion they posses for their topic makes these groups successful. THANK YOU LEAD LEARNERS!

Our Excelsior Springs Area Career Center partnered with Lewis Elementary 3rd graders this fall to build planter boxes for school garden spaces in our courtyard. They did very high quality work building and installing after the 3rd graders designed what they wished to have. Many decisions went into the planning. We held a ribbon cutting to officially open the planters with both groups in attendance. Can't wait for spring!
